Ever wondered how to take your bike on Metro? Ever wondered how to get to Venice Beach with your bike and ride the coast? Join us on Sunday Aug. 17, as we bicycle and ride Metro to CicLAvia, the biggest outdoor party in LA!
We’ll meet at SteelCraft and bike 1 mile to the Wardlow station to take the A Line. We’ll get off at Slauson station and bike 6.5 miles on the new Rail to Rail bike path, from the A Line to the K Line. At the end of the path we’ll take the K Line to Crenshaw station, and then bike the last 3 miles to CicLAvia (Arts District Hub).
After we enjoy 6.75 miles of closed streets from Culver City to Venice Beach we’ll regroup at the Venice Beach Hub and bike 10 miles along the coast and inland to the C Line Aviation/Imperial Station. We’ll ride two stops to go see the new LAX/Metro Transit Center, and from there hop back on the C Line and A Line back to our starting point in Long Beach.
Everyone is welcome on any bike! Bring a bike in good condition, a helmet, water/snacks and your TAP card (or money to buy one at Wardlow). See you there!
Start and End: SteelCraft, 3768 Long Beach Blvd.
Meet time: 9:00 a.m., roll at 9:30 a.m.
Distance: About 20 miles, split in sections, plus whatever we ride at CicLAvia
